What does it mean to "manage" my domain?

If you've ever dealt with the management of your domain, you know that with other registrars, it can be a difficult and lengthy process. The smallest change, whether changing your email address in your contact information, or altering the name servers of your host, can require multiple, confusing emails. Now, however,Morris Creek gives you the ability to make all of those changes online! You can change your contact information or name servers in just a few seconds, using our secure system.

Access your domain from any web browser 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, using your username and password.

How do I change the information in my domain?

Log on to our Domain Management System by clicking on the Domain Manager link. Input your username and password to log on to our secure server. You can see the domains you have in your account, listed 10 at a time. (You can, if necessary, search for a specific domain you own.) Click the "Change Info" button next to the domain you wish to alter. Each domain has a number of items you can change. You may change the administrative, technical and billing contact information, as well as the name server (DNS) info. For more on changing DNS info, please see "How do I change the DNS information for my Domain Name?" below. For details about the Domain Manager Control Panel, please see "What information can I change in my domain manager control panel?"

I lost my username and/or password. How can I retrieve it?

If you have forgotten your username and/or password for the domain you registered, you can request it via email.
Log on to www.DomainsNow4U.com <http://www.domainsnow4u.com/>, and click the "Member Login" link in the left hand column. Or use this shortcut login <http://www.domainsnow4u.com/home/domain-manage.htm>.
Below the Login box there is a "Forgot Your Password?" field. Enter your email address and we will email your username and password immediately.
IMPORTANT: Depending on your mail system, it may take some time to receive, usually no longer than 15 minutes. You must enter the email address you used at the time of registration.

If you have forgotten your username and password, AND your email address is incorrect or out of date, please email <http://www.domainsnow4u.com/feedback.html>. You will have to provide the last 4 digits of the credit card used to register the name.
If you cannot provide the credit card information mentioned above, you will need to provide written proof of ownership and identity. This is for security reasons.
If the domain is owned by an individual, a valid photo ID (passport, drivers license, etc.) is required.

If the domain is registered to a company or other corporate entity, we will need the notarized signatory page of the company's articles of incorporation, or equivalent document.

If you cannot provide this information, you will not be able to get access to the domain. Please Fax all information to our registrar partner, Innerwise Inc., at (847) 895-4123. Please include your contact information (email and telephone), so that we can verify the information's validity.

How do I change my admin, billing, or technical contact?

Changing the admin, billing and technical contact information can be accomplished via the Management control panel. To begin, click the "Domain Manager" link at Morris Creek. Enter your username and password. If you have forgotten your username and password, you can enter the email address you used at the time of registration to receive your username and password via email.

Once you're in the Management system, click the "Edit/ Manage Contact Handles" link. A contact handle is a shorthand version of all of your contact information. You can edit any of your contact handles here (click the "Edit" button next to the handle), or create new ones (click the "Create New Handle" link at the top of the page).

Once you have the contact handle information the way you want it, return to the main screen of the Manager. Next, click the "Assign Domain Contacts" link. A list of your domains, as well as the current Morris Creek contact handle associated with the domains, will show. Choose the domain you'd like to change information for, and click the Continue button. Choose what information you'd like to update: admin, billing and/or technical, and click the Continue button.

You may choose any of the Morris Creek contact handles you have set up in our system. Click the Continue button to finalize the change. Our system will update immediately, however, it will take 24-48 hours for the information to propagate Internet-wide.

Do I have to use my home address in my contact information?

Yes, your contact information must be accurate. ICANN peridoically does audits to verify the accuracy of Whois information that you provide. They will warn you, then shut you down, if they find inaccuracte information. Many people are reluctant to use their personal information, especially if a domain may be objectionable to some.

This is a violation of the Terms of Service, which state that correct contact information must be provided. Morris Creek, however, will not take action against you solely for that reason. If you are concerned about the privacy of your information, you may use our Secure Whois service, which will replace your Whois personal information with that of our affiliate in Shaumburg, Illinois.

Note that should your site be objected to, Morris Creek will attempt to contact you. If your contact information is false and we cannot contact you to respond to any complaint, your domain may be deactivated.

If you need to change registrant info to something more secure, follow the procedure in our frequently asked questions about Domain Name Ownership.

We often receive requests to casually change the registrant information. Some people wish to update their address that has changed, or the company name, which has been bought out. Others want to remove their ownership information for security purposes.

Changing the registrant information requires a higher level of security, since it affects the ownership of a domain. You should also be aware that it may affect your ownership adversely. For example, should someone file a WIPO claim to this domain, one of the ways ICANN will resolve the dispute is to immediately terminate a disputed domain if the information provided is known to be false.

Should you wish to go ahead with your change of ownership, please follow the procedure in our frequently asked questions about Domain Name Ownership.

How do I update the information in my account?
Can I change my password?
My default email address is incorrect. How can I update it?

Changing your default account information can be accomplished via the Management control panel. To begin, click the "Manage Domain" link. Enter your username and password. If you have forgotten your username and password, you can enter the email address you used at the time of registration to receive your username and password via email.

Once you're in the Management system, if you wish to change your password, click the "Change Your Password" link. You'll be asked for your current password, as well as your new password twice. PLEASE NOTE: Once you hit the "Change Password" button, your change is finalized.

If you wish to change the default account information click the "Update Account Information" link. You'll be able to update the email address for your account, your default registrant & contact info, your default name servers and your default credit card information.

I need to create a new account. How do I do that?

If you have domains under a username and password, you can create a new account and move a domain in your current account to that new account.

You can create a new account here. Fill out the default information for the new account, and click Continue. If you like, you may enter the following default credit card info: VISA 4444444444444444 03/03 (This is a "dummy" credit card account.)
Once you have the new account set up, you can contact support. Give us the domain, as well as the username and password for the current account, and the username of the account you want us to transfer the name to. We may contact you via email to confirm.

I have more than one account. Can I merge them all into one?

Yes. If you have more than one account at Morris Creek with domain names in both, you can move your domains from one account to another. Please follow these steps:
1. Login to you account with your username and password.
2. After login, go to the "Change/Update Information" section and click the "Ownership Change" link.
3. The first time you log into the "Ownership Change" section, you must choose your security question and password. You must provide this password upon subsequent visits to the "Ownership Change" section. Please choose carefully because if you forget your security password, you will not be able to get access to this section without contacting support. We keep a record of all registrant changes. If you believe fraud has been perpetrated, please contact support immediately, with proof that you were the original owner of record changes. We will investigate all ownership change cases promptly.
4. On the next page, click "Move Your Domain". A list of your domains will appear.
5. Click on the domain you want to move to another account.
6. If the destination account already exists, please skip to step 7 below. If you need to create a new destination account, click the link as shown. There is no charge to create a new account. Note that certain fields, including credit card details, are "required", i.e. they MUST be filled to successfully create the new account. If you do not know the credit card details, you may enter the following default credit card info: VISA 4444444444444444 03/03. This is a "dummy" credit card which can be changed to the correct information later.
7. If the destination account already exists, enter its Username in the box and repeat the same Username in the 2nd box to verify. Then click the "Continue" button and follow the online instructions to complete the process.

Can I have my domain URL-forwarded or redirected?

Yes. URL-forwarding is a function of the Morris Creek management control panel. Access the Manage section through our Member Login with your username and password, and select the "Enable URL-Forwarding" link in the "Services" section. There is a nominal fee to receive forwarding to the URL of your choice. You can use a www URL like this: http://www.yourcompany.com/yourexamplesite.html or an IP address URL like this: http://12.34.56.789

It will take a couple of days for your change to propagate Internet-wide. Your domain will be hosted on our servers, and will pull up the web page you specify. Therefore, you cannot specify meta tags or other domain information. Your name will be in the address bar of the browser window at all times; your "real" web address will be hidden. You may change your forwarding destination at any time through the management control panel as described above.

You may view a screenshot of the "Enable URL Forwarding" tool here. Note: When you enable URL Forwarding, your DNS information will change to our forwarding servers. So please do not modify or add additional DNS information.

How does your URL forwarding work?

When you activate URL-forwarding, your domain is "cloaked". This means that visitors will only see your domain in the browser address bar, they will not see the "real" URL you are forwarding to. This is done by using a frame on our servers, which then loads the content of your site into that frame. This frame does not allow for any modifications by you; either title bar or meta tags, etc.. However we can add a 'TITLE' for you to a frame load page. If this is what you want, please email support and include the Domain as well as the Username and Password of your account.

Cloaking may interfere with the coding of some websites with dynamic features, such as java scripts, ID tags, etc.. It will also interfere with secure websites, as part of your site will not be secure with cloaking. This will prevent the "lock" from showing up in browsers, etc.. We can, on request, deactivate cloaking for your domain. This will result in a straight redirect to your site, with no frame. All your code, including title and meta tags, etc. will then appear, but so will the "real" URL you are forwarding to. If this is what you want, simply email support to make this change for you. Please provide the domain, and the username and password of your account.

How do I deactivate URL forwarding?

URL forwarding is automatically disabled after you make a DNS change. Login to your domain account with your Username and Password. After login, go to the "Manage Your Domain" section and click the "Change DNS / Hosting Info" link to update your domain's DNS. Then follow the online instructions to complete the process. Because it will take 24-48 hours for your DNS change to propagate, URL-forwarding will remain active while the change is in progress, so that you do not experience down time for your website. Once your new DNS servers have propagated, however, and your domain is no longer residing on our forwarding servers, that will automatically render URL-forwarding inactive. However, URL-forwarding will still be in your account for this domain for the full length of the term you chose. You may, of course, use URL-forwarding again if your new hosting doesn't work out. You merely need to change your DNS back to our forwarding servers.

You may also, of course, abruptly terminate your forwarding by deleting your URL forwarding address. Erase the URL you are forwarding to, and submit your change. Your domain will resolve to an error page immediately, using the bogus URL <http://no-where>.

Can I have my domain's Email forwarded or redirected?

Yes. Morris Creek gives you the option of having Email arriving at your domain automatically forwarded to an existing Email address. You can have "anymailrecipient@yourdomain.com" mail forwarded to any existing email address. Email forwarding is a function of the management control panel. Access the Manage section through our Member Login with your username and password. If you have forgotten your username and password, enter the email address you used at the time of registration, and we will email you your username and password.

Once you've logged in, select the "Enable Email Forwarding" tab in the "Services" section. Select what email address you'd like to set up for your domain, as well as the email address you'd like to forward that email to. It will take 24-48 hours for your email to begin forwarding. Later, if your real email address changes, no problem. Just return to the email forwarding section in your Control Panel and update your email address. It will take 24-48 hours for your email to begin forwarding.

Note: When you enable Email Forwarding, your DNS information will change to our forwarding servers. So please do not modify or add additional DNS information. More

How can I disable Email forwarding?

Email-forwarding is automatically disabled after you make a DNS change. Because it will take 24-48 hours for your DNS change to propagate, email-forwarding will remain active while the change is in progress, so that you do not experience any down time for your website. Once your new DNS servers have propagated, however, and your domain is no longer residing on our forwarding servers, that will automatically render email-forwarding inactive.

Email-forwarding will still be in your account for this domain, however, for the full length of the term you chose. You may, of course, use email-forwarding again for any reason; for example, if your new hosting doesn't work out. You merely need to change your DNS back to our forwarding servers. You may also abruptly terminate email forwarding by deleting your forwarding address. Erase the email address you are forwarding to, and submit your change. Your mail will stop forwarding immediately.

How can I change the MX record for my domain?

We provide you with two options to receive email.... The first is to specify the DNS information of your mail host. Most hosting companies provide email accounts with your hosting plan. The other is to use our email forwarding services. PLEASE NOTE- you cannot do both. If your domain is being hosted on a website hosting plan, you must get email through your host. If your domain is on our email forwarding servers, you must use our URL-forwarding services to redirect your domain to a website. If the above options are insufficient for your needs, please check out our "DNS Service" which allows you to manage A (Address), CNAME (Alias), and MX (Mail Exchanger) DNS records.
